A Constitutional Document Begumpura
A constitutional document for the establishment of peace, solidarity, equality and freedom in the world — Begampura
Begampura is a happy homeland. In the society of this homeland, there is only happiness. No one has any pain, suffering or loss. Economically, no one is rich, no one is poor, and politically, no king has to pay any tax, nor does a defeated king pay tribute to a victorious king, in the end, there is no ruler here except that eternal king. These thoughts have been recorded by Adi Dharam Anmol Ratan, Advocate, Professor Lal Singh Ji in his book “Satik Bani Sri Guru Ravidass Ji and Tat-Sidhant.”
In the special issue of the magazine Punjabi Duniya, June and July 1977, on the 600thParkashPurb(birth anniversary) of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji, the views given by various scholars regarding the Begumpura of Guru Sahib have been recorded by Professor Lal Singh in the chapter of his above-mentioned book – “Guru Ravidass Bani and Marxism”. Some parts of it are being published here.
Guru Ravidas Ji has formulated unchangeable truths in this word. The basis of these is scientific truth. This is the unchangeable principle.
Sri Guru Ravidas Ji has sung this Shabad in Gauri Raag and it is recorded on page 345 of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The thoughts of this Shabad are so simple, so clear, so profound, so serious, so vast and mature that every sentence (verse) and even every word used in the creation of this Shabad has become a bearer of theoretical qualities. So every stanza of the Shabad has a principle in itself. This has been confirmed by the RaagNirnayak Committee of renowned musicologists of India:-
“Gauri is a Raag of serious nature. The fading soul seeks grace and searches for itself,” therefore in this Raag, Guru Sahib has sung Gurbani on serious topics such as mind, intellect, intellect, soul, death, salvation etc.
Guru RavidasJi is a great thinker. His far-sightedness, deep thinking, broad outlook, universal knowledge and miraculous, revolutionary scientific approach created a universal ideology in the phrase “BegamPura Sahar Ko Nau”, which is much more scientific, logical and practical than the ideology of the great thinkers of today’s world. Dr. Jeet Singh Sheetal writes:-
“In this context or context, when we see the above words of Bhagat (Guru) Ravidas (Begam Pura Sahar Ko Nau. ), then great sociologists, intellectuals and political scholars are left bewildered. Even Marx, Lenin etc. may not have been able to imagine such a country, state, city, authority and human homeland.
In another place in the same article, Dr. Sheetal reveals the secret of an irrefutable truth and writes:-
“No great man has risen above the boundaries of a country and its interests and looked at the whole world. This is the reason why the conflicts between countries have not ended till today.”
Dr. Jeet Singh Sheetal’s statements have not only revealed the unwavering truth, he has also proved Guru Ravidass Ji as a great thinker by giving logical arguments.
In this regard, Dr. Sheetal himself says:-
“No devotee (Guru) has talked about establishing such a political, social, economic or geographical international country. Six hundred years ago, thinking about such a homeland or universal country and drawing its outline without any doubts could only have been the lot of Guru Ravidas, a universal human being, a god-like man and a Guru-like devotee. Our heads automatically bow before his great talent.”
Dr. Surinder Kumar Daveshwar, while mentioning the ideology of Guru RavidasJi’s ‘Begampura’, establishes him as the ancestor of Rousseau and Voltaire:
“Rousseau’s ideas of freedom, equality and fraternity are considered to be the birth-giving force of a new intellectual revolution in the world. In fact, these ideas were propagated in the Indian saint tradition in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. These ideas were the core of Sant Ravidas’s Bani and preaching. Thus, Bhagat (Guru) Ravidas Ji is also established as the ancestor of Rousseau and Voltaire in the intellectual revolution.”
It is clear from this statement that Guru Ravidas Ji was the world’s first revolutionary, ideologist and preacher.
Dr. Daveshwar, after studying the ideology of ‘Begampura’, reaches the following conclusion:-
“The essence of this word is politically democracy, economically socialist state and spiritually an artistic world in which Satyam Shivam and Sundaram are the watchwords. There are full opportunities here for the all-round development of every person.”
From the above discussion, it has become clear that Guru Ravidas Ji is the world’s first revolutionary, a socialist for political and economic development, a thinker of democracy, a creator of the world community socially and a spiritualist of the highest order. Therefore, he is the world’s first greatest scholar.
Even after reaching the pinnacle of such greatness, why did the scholars of the Sikh world who believe in and contemplate Sri Guru Granth Sahib not even think of exposing and propagating the ideology of Guru Ravidas Ji in the world? What is the reason for this? S. Kartar Singh Vaid gives the answer to this very boldly and clarifies that Guru Ravidas Ji has been left behind in the field of Gurmat due to his being an untouchable (so-called). He writes:-
“Guru Ravidas was a spiritual leader of the highest order, and he was also a leader of socialist ideology. He was a supporter of the welfare state and a priest of revolution. The glory of Guru Ravidas Ji could not become more popular than the Gurmat has become because those who took his name were not economically, socially, historically, politically and culturally proficient, they were not aware. The Gurus of the backward castes have also been left behind, while they also used to talk about the same progress that others used to talk about.”
From the above discussion, it is clear that Satguru RavidasJi’s Begampura is a valuable and constitutional document for establishing peace, equality, freedom and solidarity in the entire world. By implementing which every person in the world can live a joyful life.
